Maybe I'm taking this whole "personal branding" thing too seriously

Well, I did it. After years of wussing-out, I finally did it. And it hurt like a sunavabitch! Anyone who tells you "Oh, tattoos don't hurt," is a liar. It was like getting 1000 shots in 45 minutes.

Anyway, special thanks to Joe @ Iron Age Studio who did a PERFECT job; my friend Andy Masters who cheered me on the whole time; and the friendly crew from the Today Show who managed to record the entire painful session on tape. Great. Can't wait to show that one to the kids some day.

My son had his last name tattooed on his chest a few years ago and has been teased mercilessly! I sent your picture to him as insiration. Also, I got my first tattoo (at 50!) a few weeks ago with my best friend. And you are right about everything, it hurts, but is well worht it!

Wow, too cool, Scott. I got my first tattoo this year, too, as a way to celebrate my 50th turn around the sun. Yeah, it hurt, but I got over it quick. It's a damn powerful feeling, though. Way to go! look at the bottom of the page here.

I have seven tattoos (one has been re-outlined and coloured), as for piercings, I have had my nostril (x4), navel (x2), tounge (x2) and labret (x2) and my clitoris pierced (x1). Now looking back at how much work I have had done over the years, I figure child birth would be a hell of a lot more painful! So anyone who says getting a tattoo or piercing hurts - obviously doesn't know the meaning of pain.

Oh, and I have a tattoo on my arm that took two sessions of six hours each to complete. I didn't complain once. So shut the fuck up about your little baby tattoo that probably took twenty minutes. It doesn't look like it even has any black lines, and those are the needles that hurt the most. You are a sissy.

I agree with Murphy's Law above. You look like you work for Staples and love it. If I saw you at a pool or the beach, I would laugh so hard that whatever I was drinking would spurt out my nose. Normally, I am opposed to tattoo removal as I think people should live with the consequences of their actions, but in your case I make an exception. If there were ever a case for tattoo removal, this is it. Go get that thing removed. Please. You not only give tattoos a bad name with that thing, you give humans a bad name. Seriously. Take it off. Seriously.

Okay, first, I agree with all the people above who said this is the stupidest tattoo ever.

Second, you are hella hairy (are you part Sasquatch?). Did you give any thought to how that will look when your hair grows back in? Or are you going to keep shaving that one spot for life? When the hair comes back, your tattoo will look like a real name tag after someone has taken it off a sweater. Yeah, that will look cool...

Third, the fact that you complain about that thing hurting means you're just a little girly man who has obviously never experienced real pain. I have tattoos. They don't hurt that much. And mine took a hell of a lot longer to get than your tiny little wimp-ass tattoo. I got shot in the back twice in combat in Panama. I ruptured a disk in my back on a parachute drop and had spinal fluid leaking out of it for ten days. It gave me a headache so bad I vomited when I stood up. I had to have my own blood inserted into a tap in my spine to stop the leaking. Twice. In a field hospital with only local anesthetic. So shut the fucking hell up about pain, you pansy-ass, coddled little yuppie puss.

I am a tattoo artist, and to everyone criticizing the man for his choice in ink.....blow it out your ass. People that get inked to impress other people are fake an irritating to those of us that take it seriously. You get ink for you, not some blowhard on the internet to pat you on the back.
