Driving a Truck Changed My "Auto Approachability"

This week I took my car into the shop for a few repairs. When asked what kind of rental I wanted, I noticed a black Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab and said, "I'LL TAKE THE TRUCK!"

I've never driven a truck for an extended period of time before. But I found it to be an interesting experience. My "Auto Approachability" changed when other drivers began to treat me differently. People let me go ahead of them in traffic. Cars slowed down as I approached. Some people even gave me dirty looks!

Picture you're driving next one of these types of transportation:

  • Bikers
  • Truckers
  • Cyclists
  • SUV's
  • Gas guzzlers
  • Bass-bumpin-tinted-windowed-blacklight-bottomed-22-inch-rim-having-pimp-mobiles
LET ME ASK YA THIS...

How do vehicles change the way drivers approach (or don't approach) each other?

About a year ago, I bought a "laptop" that looks something like this: http://www.voodoo.ca/sellPage.aspx?productID=1006

I just realised that this increased my "laptop approachability" even if it was mostly just when passing through airport security. I almost always get comments from fellow passengers and also security staff.

Dear Scott, thanks for another super article, i just love this site, thanks for the hard work.
