The Journal of Mundane Behavior

The Journal of Mundane Behavior, co-hosted by the Department of Sociology/Anthropology at Millersville University and the Department of Sociology and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at California State University, Fullerton, is a blind peer-reviewed scholarly and publicly-oriented journal devoted to the study of the "unmarked" -- those aspects of our everyday lives that typically go unnoticed by us, both as academics and as everyday individuals.

If you've never read any articles from this journal, you're missing out!

Here's one called Waiting Outside the Atlas Café: A Study in Community

Here's another good one called Away Message

LET ME ASK YA THIS...

If you could write a journal article about any mundane behavior, what would it be?

I don't know which mundane behaviour I would put first. The interesting things may be something that normally gets lost in common human acts. That is some of the charm of Laura Wilder's Little House books. She told about everyday things that happened to her. Big things, small things. She gives a rounded view to her life on the frontier of a young country.
Anyway...On the negative side, waiting for a connection to the internet... Can't you just see a George Carlin-esqe description (without the language, please) of hooking up to the internet?
I think it would be hilarious!
On the more positive side, I suppose that telling what you see while sitting in a car waiting for somebody would be nice, but for future refernce points, maybe how you decided who to vote for in the last election. No WHO, but HOW. If done in an interesting manner, it would interest not only me, but your party, the opposition to your party, sociologists, psychologists, and maybe even the person you voted for.
(I chose based on the abortion issue. The other issues fall flat compared to whether you are 'killing innocent babies' or 'defending women's rights.' I'm not going to tell you which side I chose FOR. I leave that to your audience to decide. Maybe you should talk amongst yourselves. It's bound to be an interesting discussion.

It is very interesting for me to read the post. Thanx for it. I like such topics and anything that is connected to this matter. I definitely want to read more on that blog soon.

Truly yours
